In this role:

As a Bridge Maintenance Worker, you'll play a hands-on role in maintaining and preserving critical transport infrastructure across the region. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will:

- Carry out labouring and manual handling tasks on a variety of bridge and culvert maintenance projects.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of timber, steel, and concrete bridges, including supporting other trades and undertaking painting activities when required.
- Operate a range of small plant, machinery, and powered and non-powered hand tools safely and effectively.
- Complete routine and more complex maintenance activities with limited supervision.
- Identify and address routine issues using established procedures and work collaboratively with supervisors to manage more complex challenges.
- Contribute to a safe and productive work environment by following work health and safety requirements and best practices.
- Travel across the district and work away from home when operationally required.
- Participate in after-hours callouts and emergency response activities when needed.
- Enjoy the benefits of a 9-day fortnight roster, supporting work-life balance.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity based in Bega, and applicants must reside within a 100km radius of the Bega Depot.

About you

You're a motivated, reliable, and safety-focused team player who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining essential community infrastructure. Experience in bridge construction, maintenance, civil works, or a similar outdoor labouring environment will be highly regarded.





To be successful, you'll have:

- A current White Card (Construction Induction Card).
- A current Australian Class C Driver Licence (minimum P1 Provisional Licence).
- A willingness to obtain any required licences, tickets, or certifications as part of the role.
- The ability and willingness to work at heights and in confined spaces (training and certifications will be provided).
- Flexibility to travel and work away from home when required.
- Applicants must reside within a 100km radius of the Bega Depot.

Desirable qualifications and experience

While not essential, the following skills and qualifications will be highly regarded:

- Experience operating plant and machinery.
- Medium Rigid (MR) Truck Licence.
- Experience or qualifications in scaffolding, dogging, or rigging.
- Experience in bridge maintenance, construction, civil works, or infrastructure projects.
