Stav Vafeas HR Consulting is recruiting on behalf of a client operating in a project-based environment for a hands-on Finance Manager.

This role combines day-to-day financial operations, customer invoicing and project financial management with reporting and analysis to support business decisions. It will suit someone who enjoys working across the detail, understands the numbers and can provide clear financial information and insights to support management.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager, this is a hands-on role with no direct reports. Working closely with leadership and project teams, your responsibilities will include:

- Managing reconciliations and month-end accounting activities.
- Preparing and issuing accurate monthly customer invoices, meeting billing deadlines and following up outstanding accounts.
- Preparing and maintaining accounts payable records and coordinating information for payment processing.
- Preparing and checking timesheet and payroll information for processing.
- Setting up projects within Xero and analysing financial performance and profitability against budget.
- Maintaining financial forecasts and cashflow reporting.
- Preparing financial reports, analysing project performance and providing financial insights to support business decisions.
- Providing financial input into tenders and contract reviews.
- Preparing accurate financial information, reconciliations and supporting documentation for tax reporting, year-end activities and external audits, working with those responsible for final processing and oversight.

About you

You'll bring relevant accounting and financial management experience, together with:





- The ability to manage transactional finance alongside financial analysis, forecasting and reporting.
- Strong reconciliation skills, attention to detail and reliable follow-through.
- Confidence using Xero, Excel and financial reporting tools.
- The ability to understand, interpret and clearly communicate financial information to support effective decision-making.
- A practical approach to improving processes, identifying issues and finding solutions.
- Confidence working in a rapid-paced, entrepreneurial business, managing competing priorities and adapting as business needs change.
- Sound judgement, initiative and discretion when handling confidential information.

Experience in a project-based business, including project costing, invoicing and profitability reporting, would be valuable.
