We're partnering with an established and successful Australian business to appoint a Commercial Finance Analyst who is keen to develop their commercial capability, build strong relationships across the business and work closely with senior leadership.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants more than a traditional finance role. You'll be working alongside an experienced Finance Director and Operations leadership team, gaining genuine exposure to the commercial and operational drivers of the business.

The Chance:

Working at the intersection of finance, manufacturing and operations, you'll play an important role in helping the business better understand its financial performance.

You'll have the opportunity to get out of the finance function, engage with operational stakeholders, investigate what is happening across the business and turn financial information into meaningful commercial insights.

Your Responsibilities will Include:

- Analysing product costs, gross margins and manufacturing performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Investigating financial variances, understanding the underlying causes and highlighting opportunities or potential issues.
- Supporting product costing, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and inventory analysis.
- Understanding the commercial impact of production efficiencies, material costs, rework and supply chain activity.




- Working closely with factory and operational teams to understand business performance and challenge information where appropriate.
- Preparing meaningful financial analysis and reporting to support commercial decision-making.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and overall business performance.

What We're Looking for:

Above all, we're interested in the person behind the numbers.

You might be an established Commercial Analyst looking to broaden your exposure, or an ambitious Financial Analyst or Management Accountant ready to take the next step into a more commercially focused position.

You'll Ideally Bring:

- Strong financial and analytical fundamentals, with the ability to interpret financial information and understand what is driving the results.
- A naturally inquisitive mindset. You don't just accept the numbers; you want to understand the story behind them.
- Confidence to ask questions, investigate unusual movements and constructively challenge the status quo.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with people outside of finance.
- Initiative, sound judgement and the confidence to take ownership of an issue and see it through.
- A genuine interest in understanding how a business operates and what drives its commercial success.





Exposure to manufacturing, product costing, inventory, BOMs or operational finance would be advantageous, but we're equally interested in someone with strong fundamentals, commercial aptitude and the desire to learn.
