Content & Communications Coordinator - Casual
Casual, Onsite
Darlinghurst, Sydney, NSW
Reporting to: Digital Engagement & Content Producer
About you
You’re an organised, energetic and curious communicator who enjoys variety and is happy to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in. You may be building your career in communications, content or marketing and are looking for an opportunity where you can learn, contribute and gain broad exposure across the field. You’re comfortable turning complex information into clear, engaging content, but you’re just as willing to coordinate a photoshoot, organise files, chase a supplier or keep a busy schedule on track. You bring a positive, solutions-focused approach and aren’t afraid to learn new tools, systems and ways of working.
The role
The Content & Communications Coordinator is a hands-on role supporting the Brand, Marketing & Communications team at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, with exposure across content, digital, brand, media and marketing. You’ll help create and maintain content across our website, social media, newsletters and intranet, while supporting the coordination and administration that keeps a busy communications function running smoothly. Working closely with the Digital Engagement & Content Producer and wider Advancement team, you’ll have the opportunity to help bring our research, people and impact to life for a range of audiences.
This is a casual position and a great prospect for someone looking to build practical experience across multiple areas of communications in a world-leading medical research environment.
What we will trust you with
- Providing day-to-day administrative and coordination support to the Brand, Marketing and Communications team, helping activities, projects and priorities run smoothly.
- Coordinating marketing and communications requests, materials and approvals, working with internal stakeholders, agencies and suppliers to keep things moving.
- Keeping content calendars, schedules, contact lists, files, records and shared resources organised, accurate and up to date.
- Supporting meetings, events, filming and photography by coordinating bookings, catering, spaces, equipment, schedules and other practical details.
- Assisting with media activity, including coordinating media materials, monitoring coverage, preparing summaries and supporting shoots and media opportunities.
- Supporting website, intranet and communications updates, including uploading content, making routine updates and helping maintain accurate information across channels.
- Assisting with the preparation, formatting and coordination of presentations, reports, newsletters and other marketing and communications materials.
- Providing general team support across campaigns and projects, including proofreading, basic content updates and other communications tasks as required.
Does this sound like you?
- You have a positive, can-do attitude and genuinely enjoy pitching in wherever you’re needed.
- Highly organised and can keep track of multiple priorities, deadlines and approvals without losing sight of the detail.
- You’re a clear and confident communicator with an interest in content, storytelling and audience engagement.
- Equally comfortable with the creative and administrative sides of a communications role.
- Proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused, and can work both independently and collaboratively.
- Confident learning new tools and systems and interested in emerging technologies, including AI-enabled ways of working.
- You enjoy working with different people and can build positive relationships with colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders.
- Curious, eager to learn and excited by the opportunity to build broad experience across content, communications,
media and marketing.
