Electronics and comms techs who can actually teach are hard to find. If that’s you, or you reckon it could be, keep reading.
We’re looking for an Electronics & Communications Teacher to deliver training to Defence personnel on a Defence site in the Western Port area. It suits people living in Frankston, Hastings, Mornington, Rosebud, Cranbourne, Pakenham and the surrounding suburbs.
Maybe you’ve spent years in comms, telco, RF, instrumentation or electronics maintenance. Maybe you’re ex-ADF and you’ve already worked on the gear. Or maybe you’re already a teacher in this space and want something steadier. Either way, your experience matters more than your teaching background.
What you’ll be doing
- Delivering electronics and communications training, both theory and hands-on
- Planning sessions that work for different types of learners
- Assessing students and keeping accurate records
- Using Moodle and blended learning to deliver content (training provided)
- Staying connected with industry so the course stays current
What you’ll bring
- A trade or vocational qualification in electronics, communications or a related field, plus solid industry experience
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122). If you don't have it we can help you get it
- Explicit communication and the patience to explain complex stuff simply
- Able to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance (after offer)
- Working with Children Check, National Police Check and the right to work in Australia
Why you’d take it
- Stable job with a long-term future
- Regular weekday work, no shift rosters or on-call
- Your students go on to keep critical Defence systems running
- Room to keep developing as a teacher
