We are seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to oversee the daily operations of our fish and chips takeaway business and ensure the smooth and efficient running of the store.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

• Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the fish and chips takeaway store.

• Planning and implementing sales strategies to achieve business targets and improve store profitability.

• Coordinating purchasing, ordering and inventory management of seafood, fresh produce, packaging and other supplies.

• Monitoring stock levels, arranging stock replenishment and minimising wastage.

• Managing staff recruitment, training, work schedules and performance.

• Supervising employees to ensure efficient food preparation coordination, customer service and store operations.

• Ensuring high standards of customer service and handling customer enquiries, complaints and feedback professionally.

• Monitoring sales performance, preparing sales reports and analysing business performance.

• Managing cash handling, POS operations,



daily reconciliation and financial records.

• Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, workplace health and safety requirements and relevant industry standards.

• Maintaining store presentation, cleanliness and operational standards.

• Developing and implementing promotional activities to attract customers and increase sales.

• Liaising with suppliers and negotiating purchasing arrangements where appropriate.

Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, applicants should demonstrate:

• Previous experience in retail management, preferably in a takeaway food business, quick-service restaurant or similar retail environment.

• Strong leadership and staff management skills.

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• Experience in stock control, purchasing, inventory management and supplier coordination.

• Sound understanding of retail operations and business performance management.

• Ability to manage multiple operational responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.

• Robust organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays as required.
