About us
At The Hospital Research Foundation Group, we connect people, research and care to help change lives. As a leading not-for-profit organisation, we support more than 60 areas of disease and illness, working with hospitals, universities, researchers, clinicians and community partners to fund life-changing medical research and improve patient care across Australia.

Western Australia is an exciting part of our next chapter. Having established and grown our presence through research investment, partnerships and community engagement, we are looking ahead to further growth across the state. With a dedicated WA office, local Advisory Committee and a growing network of stakeholders and supporters, there is a strong foundation to build on—and new opportunities to explore.

Now, we are looking for a strategic relationship builder to help turn that potential into meaningful partnerships. This is your opportunity to play a key part in expanding our profile, connections and impact across Western Australia's health, research, philanthropy and government sectors.

About the role
Newly created to help us grow the WA team and our impact in the state, this senior role offers the opportunity to help shape what comes next for THRF Group in Western Australia. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs and Strategy, you will have the autonomy to develop trusted relationships, uncover opportunities and help strengthen our presence and influence across the state.

As a senior ambassador for THRF Group in WA, you will bring researchers, clinicians, funders and partner organisations together around opportunities for better health outcomes. From opening conversations with prospective partners to connecting philanthropic interests with research opportunities, you will help turn relationships into collaboration,

funding and greater awareness of the impact our research and community investments deliver.

For an experienced connector, this is a chance to broaden your strategic influence, deepen your cross-sector networks and make a tangible contribution to our next phase of growth. You will combine local insight with the expertise of our WA team, leadership, specialist teams and WA Advisory Committee—helping shape opportunities that matter for Western Australians.

Key responsibilities include:

- Build and strengthen strategic relationships across Western Australia’s health, research, university, philanthropy, government and business sectors to support our next phase of growth.
- Identify and facilitate new opportunities that bring stakeholders, researchers, clinicians, funders and partner organisations together.
- Turn trusted relationships into meaningful partnerships, funding, storytelling and engagement opportunities that extend our impact.
- Represent THRF Group at meetings, forums, conferences and sector events, building visibility and influence as a senior ambassador in WA.
- Use stakeholder intelligence and market insights to provide strategic advice, identify emerging opportunities and inform organisational priorities and decision-making.
- Work closely with the Head of Corporate Affairs and Strategy, Deputy CEO, WA team, Communications, Digital & Fundraising Teams, and WA Advisory Committee to bring strategic initiatives to life.

About you
You see the possibilities in a conversation—and know how to turn a shared ambition into a meaningful partnership. With strong experience in stakeholder engagement, partnerships, philanthropy, government relations or external affairs,

you are ready to bring your expertise to a newly created role with purpose, autonomy and scope to make your mark.

- You bring strong networks and a sound understanding of Western Australia’s health, research, philanthropy, government and business setting.
- You have a proven ability to build trusted executive-level relationships and progress strategic partnerships.
- You are a confident communicator with excellent presentation, influencing and relationship management skills.
- You are highly organised, self-directed and comfortable working across multi-location teams and competing priorities.
- You are motivated by purpose and energised by the opportunity to help shape our next chapter, grow our visibility and build lasting impact in Western Australia.
