1 Service Group is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician with robust fault-finding capabilities and experience working with networked fire detection systems.

Our Fire Protection division maintains complex fire detection and suppression systems across major Sydney infrastructure and commercial facilities.

The Role

This is a hands-on technical position involving a combination of preventative maintenance, complex fault diagnosis, system repairs and specialist technical work.

Responsibilities include:

- Diagnosing and rectifying faults on fire indicator panels and networked fire detection systems
- Working with Simplex and other major fire alarm panel manufacturers
- Investigating network communication faults, node failures, power supply issues and intermittent system faults
- Troubleshooting fire alarm graphical user interfaces (GUIs) and associated network equipment
- Performing programming, configuration and commissioning activities within your demonstrated competencies and authorisations
- Testing and maintaining fire detection systems in accordance with Australian Standards
- Investigating complex system faults and developing practical rectification solutions




- Working on critical infrastructure where system reliability and operational continuity are essential
- Preparing accurate technical reports and recommendations

What We're Looking For

Essential:

- Demonstrated experience servicing and troubleshooting electronic fire detection and alarm systems
- Strong electronic fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience working with fire indicator panels and associated field devices
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, technical documentation and system configurations
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical problems
- Current driver's licence

Highly Desirable:

- Hands-on experience with Simplex & Petronics fire alarm panels and networked systems
- Experience diagnosing network communication faults and intermittent system failures
- Familiarity with fire alarm GUIs, network nodes and associated communications equipment
- Fire panel programming and commissioning experience
- Experience with Notifier, Ampac, Siemens or other major fire alarm systems
- Experience maintaining fire detection systems within tunnels, transport infrastructure or other critical facilities
- Relevant fire protection, electronics or electrical qualifications and accreditations

Simplex & Petronics experience is highly regarded, but technicians with strong experience on other major fire alarm platforms are encouraged to apply.
