We’re looking for a relationship-led Business Development Manager (Sales Executive)Our Mission Help clients show up brilliantly in the real world, with end-to-end, indoor and outdoor signage design and printing solutions that look great, last, and bring results. This role in 1 minute or less Bay Media is a Melbourne-based signage, print and installation business with 20+ years of reputation and real momentum. We’re hiring a Business Development Manager (Sales Executive) to help us grow the next chapter. This is relationship-led sales with long cycles (often 6–12 months). You’ll work closely with the CEO and team to open doors, build trust, and turn opportunities into consistent growth over time. It’s mostly new business (~80%), but a lot of wins come from expanding existing accounts into new sites, departments, and offerings. You don’t need to be a print/signage expert on day one, but you do need to be curious, organised, commercially sharp, and great at follow-up Comp: $80k–$110k + commission + super (based on experience). We’ll share how commission works early in the process

Location:
Melbourne (1 day/week in office) + some travel (mostly Melb ↔ Sydney) If you love relationship-led sales, delivering great client outcomes, learning new technical domains, and working with a small team as it scales, hit apply below and send your CV + a short intro. ? Want full detail? Read on. At Bay Media we design, print and install indoor and outdoor advertising materials across Australia, including light pole banners, custom flags, large format banners, posters, signs, stickers and decals, floor and window graphics, wallpaper, shop hoardings and more. We’ve been experiencing an exciting period of growth, and we’re now looking for someone to join the team who’s keen to build relationships, open doors, and help us grow the next chapter of our business. As our Business Development Manager (Sales Executive), you’ll work closely with Edward, our CEO, and the wider team to generate and develop recent opportunities to grow Bay Media. This is a relationship-heavy sales role with long sales cycles (often 6–12 months), where trust, persistence, follow-through, and credibility matter just as much as closing. We’re looking for someone who can build a pipeline, stay consistent through longer sales cycles, and build client trust that Bay Media understands needs and will deliver. The role is more new business than account management (roughly 80/20), but a big chunk of “new business” comes from expanding existing accounts into new areas, and new offerings. ? Your typical day might look like:

• Identifying and pursuing prospects across segments like councils, shopping centres, retail, automotive, commercial agents, asset managers, and agencies
• Opening doors through outbound outreach, referrals, relationship development, and reactivating dormant leads
• Qualifying opportunities: spotting good-fit work vs low-margin / high-friction work
• Keeping opportunities moving with excellent follow-up, clear communication, and clear next steps (scoping calls, concept conversations, and quoting pathways)
• Collaborating with the team on concepts, feasibility, and delivery planning, and providing clear briefs from the client
• Building trusted relationships over long cycles with consistent touchpoints and practical value-adds
• Building and maintaining a CRM that the wider team can rely on (contacts, stages, activity logs, next actions)
• Collaborating with key partners (trade printers, installers, fabricators, equipment specialists) to get quotes and information quickly and accurately ? What it feels like to work at Bay Media We’re a small, experienced team with a strong reputation, and we care about doing things well. We move with pace, we solve problems, and use creativity to deliver great outcomes for our clients. Our team is built around:
• A collaborative mindset, so we win together
• Ingenuity that helps clients get results, often in ways they hadn’t imagined
• Long-term relationships built on trust (not short-term wins)
• Responsive, organised, reliable follow-through
• Calm, solutions-focused energy, even when things get complex Because we’re lean, you’ll have real autonomy and impact, and you’ll work closely with Edward and the team, not buried under layers of management. ? What you’ll be (humbly) bragging to your friends about in 6–12 months
• You’ve helped Bay Media build a more scalable sales approach, and you’ve grown real momentum
• You’ve opened doors with councils / shopping centres / major accounts and have contacts who say things like: “We trust you, you get us, we know you deliver”
• You’ve helped expand existing accounts into new sites and new project types

• You’ve brought a CRM and sales rhythm to life that the whole team can use
• You can literally point at banners, signage, hoardings and campaigns out in the world and say: “Yep. That was us.” ? This might be the role for you if… We care about how you work, not your pedigree. We’re looking for someone like this:
• You love building relationships and earning trust over time
• You’re motivated by long-cycle sales and can stay consistent when progress requires patience
• You’re comfortable opening doors, following up, and keeping momentum alive, even after an initial “no”
• You’re commercially sharp, you can spot good-fit opportunities and avoid the time sinks
• You’re curious and can learn the technical basics quickly (signage/print/installation reality)
• You’re organised enough to keep a CRM clean and a pipeline growing
• You’re warm, clear, and credible with clients
• You collaborate well with internal teams and external partners
• You’ve got mid-level experience in sales / BDM / account growth (ideally 3+ years, but open to equivalent experience) Bonus if you’ve used tools like: Pipedrive, Monday, or other similar CRM/pipeline tools ? This role probably won’t suit you if…
• You’re mainly motivated by short-term wins and need weekly deal closes to feel good in the role
• You struggle with follow-up discipline or staying organised
• You don’t enjoy relationship-building, you prefer transactional sales
• You get deflated quickly when opportunities don’t convert fast
• You prefer others to solve problems for you, rather than bringing options and suggestions
• You prefer working mostly solo and find collaboration challenging
• You’re not interested in learning the technical realities behind what you’re selling ? Salary Compensation: 80k
- 110k + commission + super based on experience. We’ll share how commission works early in the process

Location:
Melbourne Employment type: Full-time ? Sound like you? Hit apply with your CV and a short intro (any format) explaining why this role excites you. We’re open to people from all backgrounds, especially those whose lived experiences bring fresh perspective, and relational intelligence. If you’re not sure you tick every box, but this still feels like a role you’d thrive in, we’d love to hear from you. If you’d like any flexibility or reasonable adjustments during the hiring process or in the role, please let us know, we’re happy to work with you.
