we offer
an international, dynamic work environment where ideas sizzle and careers grow. Ready to cook up something amazing with us? Let’s make kitchen magic together We are currently seeking a Category & Commercial Marketing Manager (ANZ) to join our dynamic team in Sydney Office. Overview The Category & Commercial Marketing Manager drives profitable growth across Australia and New Zealand through category leadership, pricing and promotional architecture, trade investment governance and shopper insight. Reporting to the Country Manager Retail ANZ, and working across both our FOB and DDP models, the role is the centre of excellence for category management, assortment strategy and commercial planning. The role partners closely with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain and Brand Marketing. Customer relationships and delivery of the sell-in number remain with the account team. Job
Responsibilities:
Category management and range reviews
• Own assortment and must-stock recommendations across key customers, and lead category reviews alongside the account owner.
• Own share of shelf, space-to-sales and rate of sale per facing analysis, and the case for range rationalisation or expansion.
• Own the ANZ category growth strategy across cookware, electrics and bakeware, and the performance scorecard behind it. Commercial analytics and insight
• Build and own ANZ sell-out and category reporting drawn from customer space data, retailer portals and internal data; make the case for commissioned market research where a specific decision justifies it.
• Turn sales, margin, shopper and market data into commercial recommendations and insight-based selling stories for customers. Pricing and promotional strategy
• Own the ANZ price ladder and price architecture across brands, tiers and channels.
• Own promotional guardrails across both commercial models: supported price points, maximum discount depth by tier, minimum frequency gaps and SKU eligibility.
• Own the methodology and analysis behind promotional return on investment; the account owner remains accountable for the return delivered on their customer. Customer growth planning and activation
• Own retailer category growth stories and the fact base behind them, co-presented with the account owner, and build relationships with customer category and buying teams.
• Develop retailer-specific activation and channel plans that commercialise brand initiatives and drive sell-through. Trade investment ownership
• Own the total ANZ trade marketing budget: the allocation envelope per customer, the return threshold against which all spend is assessed, and the post-investment analysis that feeds the following period.
• Recommend to the Country Manager Retail ANZ, who holds the ANZ P&L;, on requests above threshold, and set investment priorities that reflect the strategic agenda — premium first, fewer and bigger activations, sell-out ahead of sell-in. Individual customer trade spend remains held and executed by the account owner. Shopper activation and in-store direction
• Own Shop-in-Shop from concept and shopper journey design through to agency brief, commercial case and post-investment review, delivered in partnership with the account owner, with build and execution by external agencies.
• Define POS and in-store material requirements and brief these to our Hong Kong brand team and external suppliers; creation, artwork production, ordering and in-store training delivery sit outside this role.
• Own in-store standards and compliance where customers permit our materials.
Requirements:
• Degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Economics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in category management, category development, revenue growth management or commercial marketing on the supplier side.
• Demonstrated ownership of pricing architecture or promotional strategy, with accountability for the commercial outcome.
• Experience holding or governing a trade investment budget, with a track record of measuring and defending return.
• Household, hardgoods, FMCG or consumer goods experience preferred.
• Solid commercial and financial acumen, and advanced Excel and reporting skills.
• Advanced analytical capability — able to build reporting from imperfect and incomplete data sources, not only to operate an existing syndicated data subscription.
• Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills, comfortable influencing without direct authority and working with offshore teams across time zones.
• Valid visa (PR or citizen) with full working rights in Australia; willing to travel locally, interstate and internationally. You will find yourself part of a professional and results-oriented international team helping to grow our company. Your job offers plenty of challenge, with great variety both in your internal and in your external contacts. If you think you have got what it takes to meet this challenge, we’d like to hear from you Our offer is a competitive base salary, incentive bonuses, flexible
working hours
and conditions, and great career opportunities
