Senior Designer / Art Director Full-time

· Four days a week in the studio, with flexibility built in Sailor Studio is a creative agency in Bella Vista, and we’re looking for a Senior Designer or Art Director to join our team of around 13 specialists. This is a true creative role. You’ll lead the creative team, oversee concept development and set the creative direction across our work, solving problems and taking ownership of the creative from brief to delivery. You’ll also have the opportunity to be a part of our operations team, involved in the day-to-day running of the business. You’ll work across a diverse range of clients — from global health and pharmaceutical brands we’ve partnered with for years to local businesses, tech companies, churches and Christian-based not-for-profits. Our work spans everyday graphic design, presentations and branding through to full creative production, including strategic and digital communications, event design, email design, content writing, web design, video and animation. A heart for working with churches and Christian-based charities is a big bonus. Alongside leading the creative, you’ll stay hands-on. Much of our work is presentation design, layout and print and digital artwork for health and pharma clients, so you’ll need to enjoy producing polished, on-brand work with precision, and setting that standard for the team. Around that there’s plenty of variety, from branding and campaigns to event and church projects. You’ll work with a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, engage and build relationships with clients directly, and help shape the growth and direction of the business. • Lead the creative team, overseeing concept development and setting the creative direction across projects
• Take ownership of the creative work, guiding the team and lifting the quality of everything that leaves the studio
• Problem-solve creative and production challenges, and help the team find the best solution
• Be part of the operations team, involved in the day-to-day running of the business
• Own projects from concept to final delivery, with a strong eye for detail and consistency
• Manage multiple jobs and deadlines, communicating progress clearly and proactively
• Design and refresh qualified PowerPoint presentations, working within master templates
• Prepare artwork for print and digital, meeting technical specifications
• Engage directly with clients, presenting work and building long-term relationships What we’re looking for
• A degree or relevant qualification in graphic design
• Proven experience as a Senior Designer or Art Director within a studio or agency environment




• Experience leading and mentoring designers, with clear creative direction and constructive feedback
• Strong conceptual thinking and the confidence to own the creative and make decisions
• Advanced InDesign and PowerPoint skills (master templates, styles and accessible documents), plus strong Photoshop and Illustrator
• Confidence managing your own workload and checking your own work
• Clear communication skills, with the confidence to present to clients and contribute to how the business runs
• Someone who enjoys being in the studio with their colleagues — collaborating, sharing ideas and being part of the team day to day
