About the Role:

McNeall Plastics is seeking an experienced Plastics Technician to join our team in Unanderra, NSW on a full-time, ongoing basis.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

- Operate and monitor cast nylon equipment, including start-up, shut-down, and in-process control of casting and polymerisation plant.
- Prepare and mix raw materials (caprolactam, catalysts, activators, additives) and charge them to the process.
- Control temperature, vacuum, and reaction parameters through the polymerisation cycle, and record process conditions.
- Carry out moulding and polymerisation, including mould preparation and tooling set-up.
- Inspect finished castings and run quality checks (dimensions, hardness,



appearance, colour, voids).
- Troubleshoot faults when castings or readings fall outside standard, and adjust the process or arrange repair.
- Cut, machine, and finish cast nylon to drawing.
- Keep production records, coordinate the casting line, and recommend changes that improve yield or consistency.

Requirements & Qualifications:

- Minimum Cert III / Trade Qualification in Polymer Processing (or equivalent) OR at least 3 years of relevant professional experience as a Plastics Technician.
- Demonstrated practical knowledge of polymer production, machine operation, and quality inspection.

Pay: From $79,500.00 per year
