Fantasy Ceiling Pty Ltd is a Perth-based plastering and ceiling services business that has been operating since 2021. We specialise in residential ceiling and wall lining installation, with some light commercial work, including internal partitions and warehouse ceilings. We are looking for an experienced Plasterer to join our growing team.
The role
You will install and finish plasterboard wall and ceiling systems on residential and light commercial sites. You will work to plans and specifications, under our site supervisor, and alongside other trades.
Duties
- Read plans and specifications, take measurements and set out work areas
- Measure, cut and fix plasterboard sheets to walls and ceilings
- Install ceiling and wall framing, battens and bulkheads where required
- Install internal partitions and ceilings in residential and light commercial buildings, including warehouses
- Apply jointing compound and tape, then set and sand surfaces to a paint-ready finish
- Install and finish cornices and other decorative plaster features
- Patch and repair damaged plaster surfaces
- Install insulation and fire- or acoustic-rated linings to specification and the National Construction Code
- Order and manage materials, and look after tools and equipment
- Follow WHS requirements, site safety rules and safe work method statements
- Keep sites clean and tidy, and coordinate with the site supervisor and other trades
- Inspect completed work for quality and rectify defects
Skills and experience
- Demonstrated experience as a wall and ceiling plasterer or lining tradesperson
- Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining or Plastering, or equivalent qualifications and experience
- Strong plastering, jointing and finishing skills, and the ability to work from plans
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and positive time management
- White Card (General Construction Induction)
- Valid driver’s licence and own tools preferred
