Structural Detailer / Draftsperson

About the Role

Technical Representatives & Structural steel detailers create structural steel drawings and prepare steel erection plans for all technical aspects (including details such as columns, beams, braces, trusses, etc.) of buildings, and miscellaneous steel items. In this role, you utilize detailing software, such as AutoCAD (L1) and TEKLA (L2). This job opportunity is diverse, interesting and challenging yet rewarding. The Technical Rep & Steel detailer will prepare detailed drawings of steel structures meeting specifications established by the engineer. They must be able to detail structural steel projects of various sizes from start to finish. Have some knowledge/experience in the construction industry (training will be provided as required).

- Create structural steel drawings and prepare steel erection plans for all technical aspects (including stairs, handrails, joists, metal decking, mezzanine floors, Fyrchek, Curved Roof, Angled Structures, Special designs, etc.)
- Detail structural steel projects up to and over 12.1m Span, 250C Frame, 30 Degree pitch.

- Conduct Site Checks,
- Know how to use Solidworks or Tekla Software.
- Complete structural calculations where possible and liaise with our External engineer for instruction
- Develop Tekla models following structural and architectural design drawings
- Ability to design simple and complex light and heavy gauge steel structures.
- Ability to integrate structural steel along light gauge steel framing.
- Create files for use on the Plasma Cutter.

Essential Requirements

- Current Australian Driver's License
- Current Forklift License
- Full Australian working rights

Availability

Monday to Friday - 38 hours per week

License/Certification

- Certificate III or IV in Drafting Trade (Structural Design), Engineering Drafting or equivalent relevant qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of Work experience in the related field
- Driver License
- Ability to work autonomously

Pay: $79,400.00 – $82,000.00 per year
