JT Education is hiring a Selective Writing Piece Marker to assess student writing, provide constructive feedback, and help students prepare for selective school entrance examinations.

ABOUT US

At JT Education, we support students preparing for Selective Year 10 entry, JMSS Year 10 and 11 entry, and EBS Year 11 and 12 entry. As a team of selective school alumni, our goal is to provide the quality teaching, feedback, and support we wish we had during our own selective entry journeys.

With demand growing, we're looking to expand our team and help more students succeed.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for someone with strong written English skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to provide meaningful feedback on student writing.

You will independently assess science writing, creative writing, and persuasive writing pieces against established marking criteria, helping students identify areas for improvement.

WHAT THIS ACTUALLY INVOLVES

- Marking science, creative, and persuasive writing pieces from selective entry mock examinations
- Assessing responses against marking rubrics
- Providing clear, constructive, and actionable feedback
- Identifying strengths and areas for improvement




- Completing marking within agreed deadlines

IDEAL CANDIDATE

- Selective school or JMSS graduate preferred
- Solid written English, scientific reasoning, and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Organised, reliable, and able to meet deadlines
- Previous tutoring or marking experience advantageous but not required

COMPENSATION AND HOURS

- Pay: $10 per writing piece
- Expected Pace: Approximately 1 piece every 15 minutes (~$40/hour at the expected pace)
- Employment Type: Independent contractor
- Flexible workload depending on marking demand
- Referral Bonus: $100 for a successful candidate referral
