MANUFACTURING FINANCIAL CONTROLLER OX Trailers | Warwick, Queensland | Leadership Team Help shape the financial and operational performance of a growing Australian manufacturer. OX Trailers designs and manufactures trailers and mobile workspaces for customers across Australia. We’re looking for an experienced Manufacturing Financial Controller to strengthen our financial controls, improve profitability and build practical systems that support our next stage of growth. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will join our Leadership Team and work closely with Sales, Marketing, Design and Operations. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands manufacturing, enjoys working alongside the factory team and can turn financial information into better business decisions. The prospect You will connect what happens on the factory floor with the financial results—giving the business reliable visibility over job costs, margins, inventory, work in progress and cash flow. You’ll have the opportunity to influence how we quote, purchase, manufacture and measure performance, while developing the systems and financial discipline needed as OX grows. What you’ll be responsible for
• Financial leadership and reporting: Own management accounts, budgets, forecasts and balance sheet integrity. Provide clear reporting that explains performance, risks and the actions required.
• Manufacturing costing and margins: Establish reliable job costing across materials, labour, design, subcontracting, freight and manufacturing overheads. Compare quoted and actual margins, identify profit leakage and drive corrective action.
• Inventory and work in progress: Strengthen stock accuracy, valuation,

WIP reporting and job completion controls so our financial results reflect the actual position.
• Commercial decision-making: Support pricing, estimating, variations, purchasing, capital investment and make-or-buy decisions with practical financial analysis.
• Operational improvement: Work with Design and Operations to improve bills of materials, labour standards, time capture and reporting of material usage, rework and manufacturing variances.
• ERP and business systems: Lead improvements to workflows, data quality and financial controls across quoting, purchasing, inventory, production, job costing and finance.
• Cash flow and working capital: Maintain a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast and improve collections, payment discipline and cash tied up in stock and WIP.
• Finance team leadership: Lead and develop the employees assigned to the role, including accounts receivable and accounts payable, and coordinate reporting and compliance with external advisers. What you’ll bring You will have demonstrated experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Commercial Manager in a manufacturing business, with practical responsibility for job costing, WIP, inventory and operational improvement. We’re particularly interested in someone who brings:
• Experience in fabrication, engineered products, equipment,

assembly or project manufacturing.
• A record of improving margins, working capital and operating efficiency.
• Strong ERP, spreadsheet and analytical skills, with experience improving processes and getting teams to use them consistently.
• The confidence to challenge assumptions, investigate discrepancies and follow improvements through to completion.
• A practical leadership style: comfortable on the factory floor, clear when explaining the numbers and effective at building accountability across teams.
• Accounting or finance qualifications, with CA or CPA highly regarded. What success looks like In your first three months, you’ll assess the reliability of our financial and costing information, establish cash forecasting, review inventory and WIP controls, and agree a prioritised improvement plan with the Leadership Team. Over the following months, you’ll deliver clearer job margin reporting, stronger controls, more consistent systems and measurable improvements in profit and cash flow. Why join OX Trailers?
• A key Leadership Team position with direct access to the General Manager and directors.
• Real influence over commercial decisions and business performance.
• The opportunity to build and improve systems in a growing Australian manufacturing business.
• A tangible product, an experienced team and a role where your contribution will be visible. Interested? Apply through LinkedIn with your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your manufacturing finance experience and examples of improvements you have delivered in costing, margins, inventory or cash flow.
