The company provides design, drafting, analysis, inspection and certification services to clients across heavy transport, mining, oil and gas, agriculture and bulk materials handling. Its projects include designing purpose-built equipment and vehicle modifications, inspecting drilling rigs and concrete pumps, conducting load tests and supporting equipment compliance. The engineering team works with clients and fabricators to take designs from concept through to manufacture and testing. Role purpose Design and verify mechanical equipment, fabricated assemblies and vehicle modifications for clients in heavy transport, mining, oil and gas, agriculture and materials handling. Work with clients, engineers and fabricators to take projects from concept and site measurements through to fabrication drawings, testing and certification support.

Key responsibilities
• Define design requirements with clients, including operating loads, site constraints, applicable standards and acceptance criteria.
• Develop parametric 3D models and produce fabrication and assembly drawings, bills of materials and specifications using Autodesk Inventor.
• Perform engineering calculations and use finite element analysis (FEA) where appropriate. Document assumptions, load cases and verification checks.
• Design for protected operation, fabrication,



installation and maintenance. Resolve design and fit-up issues with workshops and suppliers.
• Assist with site inspections, equipment measurements, load testing and prototype verification. Prepare technical reports and evidence for certification.
• Manage drawing revisions, track project deliverables and communicate technical risks or scope changes to clients and the project team. Essential qualifications and skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering qualification.
• Experience in mechanical design for fabricated equipment, vehicles, machinery or a related industrial application.
• Proficiency in parametric 3D CAD and the ability to produce clear, accurate manufacturing drawings.
• Ability to apply engineering fundamentals, interpret standards and document design decisions clearly. Desirable experience
• Autodesk Inventor, Ansys or Strand7, and practical knowledge of welding, fabrication or workshop processes.
• Heavy vehicle design or modification, Australian Design Rules (ADRs), Performance Based Standards (PBS), or equipment inspection and load testing.
• Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) in mechanical engineering, or interest in working towards registration. Engineering supervision Where required, professional engineering services are carried out under the direct supervision of an appropriately registered RPEQ. Certification and sign-off are handled by personnel with the relevant authority.
