We're looking for a Driver & Factory Hand to join our growing team in Smithfield.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are quite the same. Your time will be split between completing deliveries around Sydney, preparing and packaging customer orders, and assisting experienced machinery operators across our workshop.

This is an excellent entry-level opportunity to get involved in the plastics manufacturing industry. You'll be exposed to a wide range of machinery, materials and fabrication techniques, with the opportunity to develop practical skills and grow your career in whichever direction interests you.

What you'll be doing

Your responsibilities will include:

- Delivering customer orders throughout Sydney using a large tray ute
- Assisting CNC, laser and panel saw operators with handling and processing plastic sheets
- Working alongside experienced machinery operators and learning their trade
- Preparing and packaging orders for dispatch and delivery
- Maintaining a clean, organised and tidy workspace
- Assisting with chemical and thermal welding of plastics
- Assisting with thermoforming plastic components
- Helping customers load and unload plastic sheets
- Replenishing stock and maintaining the organisation of plastic sheets, general stock and offcuts

About you

You don't necessarily need extensive experience in the plastics industry. We're more interested in finding someone who is:

- Friendly and confident when dealing with customers




- Organised and able to keep track of multiple jobs
- Helpful, proactive and willing to lend a hand
- Self-motivated and able to use their time productively
- Genuinely interested in manufacturing and learning practical skills
- Computer literate and comfortable learning new software
- A good communicator who works well with customers and colleagues
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
- Keen to develop their skills across different areas of the business

Experience

Previous experience in transport, warehousing, manufacturing, building supplies or a trade environment would be beneficial, but is not essential.

We're happy to train the right person in our products, machinery, systems and processes.

Experience with CAD, Adobe Illustrator or similar design software would be an added bonus.

Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
