AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION MECHANIC SOUTH HEDLAND

· Full Time position available – roster 5/2.

The role:

Resource Accommodation Management (RAM) seeks to appoint a refrigeration and air conditioning mechanic / generalist in the Village operations in South Hedland. This role is locally based and we expect the role will be 5/2, Monday to Friday with some flexibility. Accommodation will be provided.

Our Facility needs a person to manage air con and refrigeration tasks and general maintenance around the sites and coordinate with local subcontractors.

What this role involves:

· Maintain, repair and replace as needed Air Con units for rooms.

· Maintain and repair as needed cool room equipment at the Kitchens.

· installing and repairing components such as compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, switches and gauges, and copper lines for steam, gas, refrigerant, compressed air, oil and chilled water

· filling systems with gas or fluid to check for leaks

· test-operating refrigeration systems, checking mechanisms and making adjustments

· removing test gas and fluid using vacuum pumps, and filling with refrigerant

· checking and overhauling refrigeration systems, diagnosing faults and repairing and replacing defective components

· adjusting system controls and mechanisms and reassembling systems





· recording causes of malfunctioning and action taken

· Initial response to maintenance requests at site

· Manage minor handyman maintenance around site.

· Coordinate trade based maintenance with external trades such as carpenters, plumbers and electricians.

· Manage waste and recycling

· Manage landscaping and reticulation.

· Ability to fault find and carry out various repair types to equipment.

· Follow company policies and procedures ensuring ongoing compliance and completion of all paperwork required in a timely manner.

· Ensure Work, Health & Safety legislations, regulation, and procedures are compliant, met and maintained.

Requirements

· 2+ years HVAC installation experience.

· Certificate III in Air conditioning and Refrigeration or Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning or Electrotechnology (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning) and restricted electrical Licence.

· ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence.

· WHS Construction Induction Card (White Card).

· Current Drivers Licence

· Experience in similar roles

· Experience in remote environment

· A manual drivers’ license and forklift license.

· A progressive, can do attitude with a friendly, approachable style.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
