An exciting chance has arisen for a talented Commercial Litigation Lawyer or Associate to join a highly regarded national law firm in Brisbane.
Our client is seeking a motivated and technically strong disputes lawyer to join its established Dispute Resolution & Litigation team, working closely with experienced partners on a significant and complex Commonwealth Government matter.
This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who enjoys challenging litigation, direct client engagement and working within a collaborative, high-performing team.
The Opportunity
You will be involved in complex and substantial litigation, working alongside experienced lawyers and paralegals across Brisbane and nationally.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and progressing complex commercial litigation matters.
- Drafting pleadings, affidavits, submissions, legal advice and other litigation documents.
- Conducting detailed legal research, analysing evidence and developing litigation strategies.
- Coordinating litigation workflows, managing competing deadlines and ensuring matters progress efficiently.
- Working closely with partners and engaging directly with clients.
- Supervising, mentoring and delegating work to junior lawyers and paralegals.
- Collaborating with a national litigation team on a significant Commonwealth Government matter.
About You
To be successful, you will ideally have:
- Commercial litigation experience gained within a reputable law firm.
- Experience operating at Lawyer or Associate level.
- Strong technical knowledge of litigation procedures and dispute resolution.
- Excellent drafting,
legal research and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex matters, competing priorities and demanding deadlines.
- Experience coordinating workflows and delegating work to junior team members.
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging directly with clients.
- A collaborative approach, sound commercial judgement and a genuine interest in professional development.
- Existing Baseline Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
Experience in government litigation, regulatory investigations or public sector disputes will be highly regarded but is not essential.
Lawyers with strong commercial disputes backgrounds are encouraged to apply, even without previous government litigation experience.
