Quantity Surveyor – Building Contractor
Location: Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia
Salary: AUD $120,000–$130,000 per annum (DOE)

Highr Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a building contractor based on Australia's Gold Coast.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career in Australia's construction industry, working on building projects in one of the country's most desirable coastal locations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project costs, subcontractor packages and commercial performance throughout the construction lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage project budgets, cost planning and financial reporting.
- Prepare and assess subcontractor tenders, contracts and procurement packages.
- Manage valuations, variations, progress claims and final accounts.
- Monitor project expenditure and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and subcontractors.
- Ensure projects are delivered within agreed budgets and contractual requirements.
- Maintain accurate cost forecasts and commercial records.

Requirements

- Degree in Quantity Surveying,



Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in quantity surveying, preferably with a building contractor.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement and cost management.
- Experience working on residential, commercial or general building projects.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project delivery team.
