About Yapify

Yapify is a Melbourne-based company developing a lifestyle and community app connecting users with local events, businesses, deals, news and content creators.

We are looking for an experienced Freelance UI Designer to help finalise the interface design of our upcoming iOS app.

About the Role

This is a short-term project focused on transforming existing design concepts into a polished, production-ready Figma design system.

The app's branding, product direction and initial UI concepts have already been established. You will work closely with our founder and iOS development lead to refine the designs and prepare them for development.

Key Responsibilities

- Refine and finalise existing iOS app screens based on established design concepts.
- Develop a consistent Figma design system, including typography, colours, layouts and reusable components.
- Design additional screens, interaction states and key user flows as required.
- Create interactive prototypes and define essential transitions and animations.
- Ensure designs follow iOS design guidelines, accessibility standards and responsive layout principles.
- Prepare well-organised Figma files, design assets and documentation for developer handoff.




- Collaborate with the development team to address design feedback and implementation requirements.

Requirements

- At least 3 years of experience in mobile UI/product design.
- Proven experience designing iOS applications, with at least two published apps in your portfolio.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including Auto Layout, Components, Variables and Prototyping.
- Strong understanding of Apple Human Interface Guidelines and mobile usability.
- Experience preparing production-ready design files for developers.
- Familiarity with interaction design, motion and accessibility standards.
- Solid communication skills and ability to meet tight project deadlines.
- Availability during Melbourne business hours throughout the project.
- Australian Business Number (ABN) required.

Experience designing bilingual or multilingual interfaces will be highly regarded.

- Start: 10 November 2026
- Initial delivery: 17 November 2026
- Revisions: Two rounds of revisions included
- Payment: Fixed project fee, to be agreed before commencement
- Work arrangement: Remote, with regular communication during Melbourne business hours
