Boronia Residential Aged Care is a warm, welcoming 60 bed home at the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges in Melbourne’s outer east, and one of eleven homes operated by Medical & Aged Care Group (MACG).

About the Role

We have an opportunity for a Casual and Permanent Part Time Lifestyle Assistant at Boronia Aged Care.

Help residents enjoy a healthy, meaningful lifestyle by delivering social,



recreational and leisure programs that respect each resident’s individuality, independence and cultural background.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan and deliver daily and weekly lifestyle activities under the direction of the Lifestyle Coordinator
- Encourage and support residents to take part in activities and community engagement
- Use individual assessments to understand residents’ interests, customs, abilities and cultural beliefs
- Evaluate recreational and social programs to make sure they meet resident needs
- Monitor residents’ responses to activities and document outcomes accurately
- Assist residents during activities, ensuring dignity, safety and inclusion
- Assist with morning and afternoon tea to support residents’ nutritional and social needs
- Work collaboratively with the Lifestyle team and wider care team
- Contribute to quality outcomes and compliance with aged care standards

Experience and Qualifications:

- Certificate IV in Leisure and Health (or willingness to obtain)
- Solid written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, use initiative and stay organised
- A supportive, patient and respectful approach, particularly with residents living with dementia or disability
- Experience in aged care, and knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards, is desirable
- Qualifications in dementia care, music or art are highly regarded
- Current Employment Police Check (required)
- Australian Working rights (required)
