About Us
Camberwell Grammar School is an independent Anglican day school for boys from Pre-Preparatory to Year 12. We aim to give every student in our care the very best education in order to prepare them for life beyond school. We are a learning community, which encourages staff, students, past students and parents to involve themselves fully in all aspects of school life and to identify themselves with its values: Learning, Respect, Integrity, Courage and Optimism. We are proud of the warm spirit and sense of community that characterises our school family. Our school campus is located in the leafy inner east suburb of Canterbury, on land originally inhabited by the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, and blends period architecture with exciting contemporary design and state-of-the-art facilities.
About The Role
We are seeking a creative, organised and collaborative Content & Communications Coordinator to support the marketing and communications activities of Camberwell Grammar School. This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who enjoys bringing stories to life, creating engaging content and helping communications projects run smoothly. Working closely with the Marketing & Communications Manager, you will help tell the stories and share the experiences of the people who make up the Camberwell Grammar School community. From capturing moments across the school to creating digital content, coordinating publications and supporting campaigns, you will play an important role in keeping our community informed, connected and engaged. You will develop, schedule and publish written, visual and short-form video content across the school’s social media channels, website, intranet and email. You will help maintain a consistent and engaging presence across these channels, manage content calendars, monitor and moderate social media, and adapt content for different audiences and platforms. You will also coordinate the production of key school publications, including Spectemur, Grammarian and the Community Report. This will involve managing editorial schedules and deadlines, liaising with contributors and external suppliers, preparing and proofreading content, sourcing images and overseeing the practical details that bring each publication together. With a good eye for design and a practical approach to content creation, you will produce a range of digital and print materials using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite. You will capture photography and basic video at school events, help maintain our central image and video library, and support larger campaigns and initiatives, including Open Day and our Annual Giving Campaign. Throughout your work, you will take care to uphold the school’s brand standards and follow its child safety, privacy and image permission requirements. The role will suit someone who enjoys variety and takes satisfaction in both the creative and organisational aspects of communications. You will work with colleagues across the school, build relationships with external suppliers and help turn plans and ideas into thoughtful, well-produced communications that connect with our community. We welcome applications from people with a range of experience, including those who are developing their skills and looking to take the next step in their communications career, as well as more experienced candidates seeking a varied, hands-on role. This is a permanent, part time (FTE: 0.8) position, commencing in mid-January 2027. There is flexibility in the working arrangements, with preferred days and hours to be discussed with the successful candidate. About You You are a capable and enthusiastic communications professional who enjoys creating content, telling stories and bringing ideas to life.
You combine creativity with strong organisation and attention to detail, and appreciate the importance of producing clear, engaging and accurate communications that reflect an organisation’s values and identity. You have strong writing and proofreading skills and can adapt your tone and style for different audiences and channels. You enjoy finding interesting ways to share stories, whether through written content, photography, video or design, and understand how to create content that is engaging, appropriate and consistent with established brand guidelines. You are comfortable working across digital platforms and have practical experience using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite to produce digital and print materials. You have an interest in photography and video, including confidence using an SLR camera, and enjoy capturing the people, activities and moments that bring a community to life. You do not need to be an expert in every area, but you are willing to apply your existing skills, keep learning and develop your capabilities. You are also highly organised and reliable, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects, manage deadlines and keep track of the details that help work progress smoothly. You communicate well with a range of people, are a team player who enjoys working collaboratively and are comfortable liaising with colleagues, contributors and external suppliers. You can take initiative and work independently when needed, while recognising when to seek guidance or input from the Marketing & Communications Manager. Above all, you take pride in your work and understand that effective communications are about more than producing content. They are about sharing stories with care, building connections and helping people feel informed and part of a community. You will bring a thoughtful, professional and approachable manner to the role, along with sound judgement and a commitment to the school’s standards and values. Knowledge & Skills
