Our team continues to expand year on year as our services grow. We're now looking for an experienced General Sonographer to join Scope Radiology, either part time on two to three days a week or casually. • Produce studies the radiologist can rely on. Acquire high-quality images and accurate measurements, then write up your findings for the reporting radiologist.
• Look after your patients. Explain each scan clearly, put anxious patients at ease, and take particular care with pregnant patients and their families.
• Keep standards high. Follow our imaging protocols and safety standards, keep accurate records, and take part in quality assurance and WHS.
• Help grow ultrasound at Scope Radiology. Share ideas to improve protocols and workflow as the service expands, and work across our South East Melbourne sites when needed. Examinations The examinations you perform will depend on your experience. They include:
• Abdominal: upper abdomen (liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen and kidneys) and renal tract.
• Pelvic: uterus, ovaries and bladder, including transvaginal scans.
• Obstetric: early pregnancy and dating, viability, nuchal translucency (NT), morphology, growth and wellbeing, cervical length, Doppler studies, twins and multiples, and bleeding or pain assessments.
• Neck and small parts: thyroid and parathyroid, salivary glands, lymph nodes, scrotum and testes, and lumps and cysts under the skin.
• Vascular: carotid Doppler, leg vein Doppler (including DVT), and arm and leg artery Doppler.
• Musculoskeletal: shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle. You're thorough with every study, look after your patients, and work well with the team around you. We're looking for:
• ASAR accreditation as an Accredited Medical Sonographer, with a recognised qualification in general ultrasound.
• At least two years' experience as a qualified sonographer, scanning independently.
• Competence across a broad range of general ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, obstetric and gynaecological scans.
• Full working rights in Australia. NT accreditation and strong musculoskeletal or vascular skills will be highly regarded. You will have an opportunity to:
• Earn $75 to $95 per hour plus super, depending on your experience and the range of examinations you perform.
• Choose part-time work on two to three days a week, or casual shifts that fit around your other commitments, with no on-call.
• Help build the ultrasound service at a new, growing practice with modern equipment.
• Keep developing your skills, with CPD support, training and clinical upskilling.
• Access team member discounts and offers at a range of retailers, venues and services.
