Lead the delivery of a major SCADA upgrade program across critical water infrastructure in Cairns

Joina large public-sector organisation responsible for delivering essentialinfrastructure and community services across Far North Queensland. Theorganisation is progressing a network-wide SCADA upgrade to support increasedautomation, enhanced data and reporting capability, modernisation ofoperational technology and strengthening of network security. This is anopportunity to contribute to a significant multi-year infrastructure programspanning water treatment, pump stations, operational technology, communicationsand supporting IT systems.
Your new role
Based in Cairns and working within the Project Management Office, you will provide end-to-end project management support for a major SCADA upgrade program. The role covers procurement, technical coordination, construction-phase delivery, contract administration and stakeholder management across critical infrastructure projects.

- Prepare consultancy RFQs and construction tender documentation.
- Review drawings, technical specifications, price schedules and safety-in-design documentation.
- Undertake constructability reviews and technical evaluations of quotations and tenders.
- Manage project delivery, construction-phase services and internal and external stakeholders.
- Administer contracts, including consultant procurement, site inspection services and contractor enquiries.
- Assess variations and progress claims and support audit reviews.
- Prepare project reports and manage close-out and final project documentation.

What you'll need to succeed




You will bring demonstrated project management capability within an infrastructure, construction or similarly complex project environment, together with strong procurement, commercial and stakeholder management skills.

- Demonstrated experience delivering projects through procurement, construction and close-out phases.
- Experience preparing and evaluating RFQs, RFTs, tenders and technical documentation.
- Strong contract administration experience, including variations and progress claims.
- The ability to coordinate consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Solid reporting, communication and stakeholder-management capability.
- Experience within SCADA, electrical, IT, communications or cybersecurity environments is advantageous.
- Previous local government experience is desirable.
