Teach CPR, AED use and first aid, and assess learners against nationally recognised units, at workplaces and venues across Brisbane.

Scope Healthcare is a steadily growing healthcare group delivering cardiac, sleep and respiratory diagnostics, radiology and accredited healthcare education. Our education arm, Scope Institute (RTO 45946), delivers nationally recognised first aid and CPR courses alongside cardiac ultrasound training. Our team continues to expand year on year as our services grow.

We're now looking for a First Aid Trainer and Assessor, based in Brisbane, to deliver Scope Institute's first aid courses in Queensland. You'll train and assess workplace groups and individual learners in CPR (HLTAID009) and first aid (HLTAID011), including first aid in education and care settings (HLTAID012). You'll work with the Scope Institute team, who manage bookings, enrolments and certificates.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role. Learners complete the theory online first, so you'll run a practical session of two to three hours: demonstrating techniques, coaching practice and assessing each learner. You'll travel between client workplaces and training venues with the equipment.

What You Will Do

- Run practical first aid and CPR sessions. Demonstrate DRSABCD, CPR, AED use and the management of bleeding, burns, asthma and anaphylaxis, then coach learners as they practise
- Assess each learner. Observe adult and infant CPR and first aid scenarios, record the evidence and give clear feedback, including to learners who need another attempt
- Check learners are ready.

Confirm each learner's identity and that their online theory is complete. Flag anyone who needs extra support, such as help with reading or trouble kneeling for floor-based CPR

- Keep accurate records. Complete attendance and assessment records in our online system on the day, so certificates can be issued within one business day
- Set up and pack down equipment. Transport and set up adult and infant manikins, AED trainers and consumables, then leave each venue as you found it

- Look after your kit. Clean and disinfect manikins after every session, replace face shields and lungs as the manufacturer directs, report faults and keep consumables stocked
- Work well with clients. Confirm arrangements with each client's in office contact and pass on feedback or requests for more training to our team
- Stay current. Keep your first aid units and practice in line with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, and take part in assessment validation and professional development

Requirements You're calm and clear in front of a group, you put nervous learners at ease, and you're careful with assessment records.

We're looking for

- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or an earlier TAE Certificate IV accepted under the current Standards for RTOs
- Current HLTAID009, HLTAID011 and HLTAID012, or equivalent competency,

plus recent first aid or emergency care experience you can evidence
- Experience delivering and assessing nationally recognised training, ideally in first aid or CPR
- A current Queensland Blue Card and a national police check, or the ability to obtain them before you start
- A current driver's licence and a reliable vehicle that can carry training kits between venues
- The ability to lift and carry equipment, kneel to demonstrate CPR and stand for a full session
- Full working rights in Australia and regular availability during the week

A background in nursing, paramedicine, ambulance, defence health, fire and rescue or lifesaving is highly regarded, as is experience training childcare, school or workplace groups.

Benefits

You'll teach practical skills people use in emergencies, backed by a group that delivers cardiac and respiratory diagnostics every day. You will have an opportunity to:

- Teach for an RTO that is part of a healthcare group, not a stand-alone training company
- Choose casual hours that fit around shift work, study or other commitments
- Help shape how our first aid courses run in Brisbane
- Access team member discounts and offers at a range of retailers, venues and services

How To Apply Send your CV and a short cover letter. Tell us which TAE qualification and first aid units you hold, describe your training and assessing experience, and list the days you're available and the areas you can travel to. For an informal, confidential chat before you apply, or to express your interest, please contact us at [email protected].
