DRAFTING MANAGER | FACADE & CLADDING | MELBOURNE

We need a Drafting Manager who can take charge of our team, our drawing schedule and where our drafting time is spent.

This person will be number one for drafting at Proline. You’ll know what every drafter is working on, what needs to be delivered and when, and where to move people when project priorities change. You’ll set explicit expectations, follow up throughout the day and make sure the work gets done.

You’ll manage a team of four, including two senior project drafters, as well as external drafting contractors. You’ll be hands-on, technically capable and confident directing experienced people.

There’s a clear opportunity to grow into Head of Drafting as Proline grows.

Your job is to:

- Own the drafting schedule across all key projects.
- Decide who is working on what, set daily priorities and allocate time where it matters most.
- Lead the morning and afternoon drafting check-ins, track progress and deal with issues early.
- Directly manage the internal team and external contractors: set expectations, follow up and hold people accountable.
- Balance workloads and move resources when deadlines or project needs change.
- Make sure drawings are checked, coordinated and delivered on time.
- Keep drawing registers, revisions, RFIs and approvals moving.
- Work closely with project teams, builders, engineers, our factory and site crews.




- Step in to solve technical problems and produce drawings when needed.

You’ll need:

- Strong facade or cladding shop and fabrication drawing experience.
- Proven ability to manage people, schedules and competing project priorities.
- The confidence to give clear direction, make decisions and follow through.
- Advanced AutoCAD skills and experience with Inventor or a comparable 3D sheet-metal tool.
- A practical understanding of fabrication, including panel set-out, flat patterns, CNC routing and folding.
- Sound knowledge of facade interfaces, weatherproofing, drainage, movement and compliance.
- Full Australian working rights.

Proline Facades is a Melbourne facade fabrication and installation contractor working with tier 1 builders on data centres, hospitals, towers and reclad projects. We have around 150 people on our books, fabricate in-house and install with our own crews.

Location: Williamstown North, VIC

Position: Permanent, full-time, office-based
