This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional to contribute to complex, long-term Defence programs. Your new role As Senior Commercial Officer, you will lead and support complex commercial and contract activities across the capability life cycle. Key responsibilities include: Providing strategic commercial and contract management advice Supporting procurement planning, tendering, negotiations and contract formation Providing advice on commercial risk, probity,
policy and legal compliance Developing and reviewing key procurement and commercial documentation Managing stakeholder relationships across Defence and project teams Mentoring and supporting commercial and contract management colleagues Ensuring activities comply with relevant Defence and Commonwealth procurement policies What you'll need to succeed Current active NV1 Security Clearance is essential Strong commercial, procurement and contract management experience Previous experience within Defence or CASG is highly desirable Sound understanding of Defence commercial policies and procurement processes Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing and communication skills Strong written communication and Defence documentation skills Ability to operate effectively in a complex, fast-paced setting What you'll get in return An opportunity to work on a significant Defence capability program in a senior commercial capacity, based close to Newcastle.
