About the role:
Are you from a roofing, carpentry or construction background and looking for a current opportunity that keeps you hands-on without the demands of traditional trade work?
We're looking for a personable and detail-oriented Roof Damage Assessor to join a growing business specialising in storm damage assessments and recovery services.
Offering a $70,000 base salary + super + commission (potential additional earnings of $10,000–$20,000), plus a company car, fuel card, phone and iPad, this is a fantastic opportunity to put your practical skills to use in a customer-facing role.
About the opportunity:
Working across residential suburbs impacted by hailstorms, you'll attend pre-booked appointments to inspect roofs, assess potential damage and assist homeowners with the initial insurance claims process.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting physical roof inspections, including two-storey properties.
- Identifying, measuring and documenting hail damage.
- Preparing detailed assessment reports for internal claims teams.
- Explaining inspection findings to homeowners and collecting relevant insurance documentation.
- Assisting customers with the initial stages of their insurance claims.
- Working closely with internal teams to ensure accurate reporting and smooth progression of claims.
What's on offer?
- $70,000 base salary + super + scaled commission.
- Potential to earn an additional $10,000–$20,000 in commission.
- Company car with reasonable personal use, plus fuel card.
- Phone and iPad provided.
- Pre-booked appointments, with no cold calling or lead generation.
- A hands-on role with less physical demand than traditional trade work.
- Varied working days, generally between 8am and 5pm.
About you:
We're looking for someone who combines practical ability with strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
Whether you're an experienced roofer, carpenter or construction worker looking for a change, we'd love to hear from you.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Confidence working at heights, including accessing two-storey roofs.
- The physical ability to handle ladders, harnesses and equipment weighing approximately 20kg.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately document findings.
- A friendly, professional manner and confidence dealing with homeowners.
- Reliability, flexibility and the ability to work independently.
- Previous roofing, carpentry or construction experience is highly regarded.
Interested? If you're looking to put your practical skills to use in a rewarding, customer-facing role with great earning potential and a company car, we'd love to hear from you!
