Senior ICT Risk Manager | Capability & Governance

Canberra or Remote | Federal Government Contract | NV1 Clearance Desirable

Are you an experienced Risk Manager who can look beyond the risk register and provide meaningful insights to support complex ICT capability and investment decisions?

We are seeking a Senior ICT Risk Manager to support a major Federal Government digital setting, providing specialist risk analysis across a complex portfolio of enterprise ICT capabilities.

This is a hands-on advisory role requiring strong analytical thinking, independent judgement and the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders.

The opportunity

Working within an established capability management team, you will assess existing and emerging risks, identify potential impacts on ICT delivery and sustainment, and provide evidence-based recommendations to support governance, investment and future planning.

Key responsibilities include:

- Review, validate and strengthen an enterprise ICT capability risk portfolio.
- Identify emerging risks, capability dependencies and future funding pressures.
- Assess the impact of risks on digital capability, sustainment and investment priorities.
- Engage stakeholders to challenge assumptions and develop effective risk treatments.
- Prepare clear risk assessments, executive briefs and recommendations.
- Provide independent advice on high-priority risks and emerging issues.

What we're looking for

- Demonstrated risk management experience across complex ICT, digital or capability environments.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate interconnected risks.
- Experience developing risk assessments, treatment strategies and executive reporting.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgement and deliver practical recommendations.




- Understanding of government governance and decision-making processes.

Experience in Federal Government, Defence capability management or enterprise ICT sustainment will be highly regarded. An NV1 security clearance, or the ability to obtain one, is desirable.

Contract details

- Location: Canberra or remote for the right candidate
- Commencement: ASAP
- Duration: Contract through to 30 June 2027, subject to the available allocation of 148 working days
- Clearance: NV1 desirable
