Finance Officer | Temporary Contract

We’re partnering with an established South Australian not-for-profit that makes a difference in the community. It’s a dynamic and exciting place to work, and this is a great chance to put your finance skills to use in a small team where your work will make a day-to-day difference.
They’re looking for an experienced Finance Officer who enjoys getting to know the people and operations behind the numbers.

So, what’s the role?

Reporting to the Senior Finance and Business Partner, you’ll take care of fortnightly payroll and accounts payable and help keep month-end on track. There’s a good mix of work here, from checking the details of a pay run and getting supplier payments out on time to preparing accruals and helping pull together the monthly financial reports.

Here’s what a typical week might look like:

- Processing fortnightly payroll in Xero, including leave, allowances and reimbursements
- Coding and processing supplier invoices, reconciling statements and preparing payment runs




- Completing bank and payroll clearing account reconciliations and following up on discrepancies
- Preparing accruals and helping get the accounts ready for month-end
- Supporting the preparation of monthly financial reports
- Responding to payroll and accounts queries from staff and suppliers

You’re comfortable keeping track of a few deadlines at once and happy to follow things up when the numbers don’t quite add up.

We’d love to hear from you if you bring experience in any of the following areas, with payroll and accounts payable central to the role.

- Processing payroll and managing accounts payable
- Preparing accruals, completing reconciliations and supporting month-end reporting
- Using Xero and Excel in a finance role

A current Working with Children Check and police clearance are required for this assignment.
