Synergie Australia is seeking an APS4 Claims Support Officer for a trusted Government client located in Canberra.

The important parts:

Pay: $82,257 - $89,962 per annum + Super

Duration: 4 December 2026 to 30 June 2027 (potential for extension)

Location: Canberra

Security: Baseline clearance or the ability to obtain one

Citizenship: Must hold Australian citizenship

Preferred hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday

What you will be required to do:

As the Claims Support Officer, you will:

- Support claims management activities against approved claim plans
- Assist with the preparation of claim decision documents
- Prepare requests for information and routine correspondence
- Maintain accurate claims records in Pracsys
- Coordinate and follow up stakeholder meetings
- Participate in case conferences
- Approve invoices within approved claim plans
- Research legislation, policy and guidance material
- Analyse information and apply judgement to recurring problems
- Resolve moderately complex stakeholder enquiries
- Communicate with employees, employers and internal teams
- Build productive stakeholder relationships
- Identify and escalate emerging claims issues
- Support positive health and return-to-work outcomes
- Potentially manage low-risk workers compensation claims

To be successful in the role you will have:

- Experience in claims, service delivery or case administration
- Strong research and analytical capabilities
- Experience interpreting legislation, policies or procedures
- Excellent written communication and correspondence skills
- Confidence communicating by telephone and email




- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-management skills
- The ability to manage sensitive or confronting information professionally
- Sound judgement and problem-solving capability
- Experience maintaining accurate case or customer records
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- A resilient, responsive and cooperative approach
- Commitment to individual and team outcomes

Certificates or experience in claims management, health, business, administration or finance would be advantageous.
