The Role

You'll play a key role in designing, building and optimising the organisation's data platforms following a recent move to Azure. Working within a highly collaborative, tight-knit team, you'll partner with a wide range of internal stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver scalable, cost-effective data solutions. It's a varied role, with the chance to work across a range of projects, systems and business areas.

Responsibilities:

- Build, maintain and performance-tune SQL databases across the Microsoft stack, including both on-premise and Azure environments
- Design, build and orchestrate ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory
- Support and develop API-based, event-driven and file-based integrations between source systems and data platforms
- Contribute to the design and development of data warehousing solutions, applying data governance, quality and documentation standards

Requirements:

- Strong experience as a Data Engineer within a Microsoft environment




- Advanced SQL skills, including database development and performance tuning
- Experience with Azure data services, ideally Azure Data Factory
- An understanding of how integrations and APIs work (experience with Boomi is highly regarded, but not essential)
- Experience with, or a solid conceptual understanding of, data warehousing and dimensional modelling
- Adaptable to work across a wide range of projects, systems and business areas
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and manage competing priorities
