Wellington Correctional Centre in NSW is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (Mental Health) to join its correctional health team on a contract basis. This is a full-time, fixed-term position running until 30 June 2027, offering an opportunity to deliver specialised mental health nursing in a unique and challenging correctional setting. The role starts as soon as a suitable candidate is identified, and successful applicants will need to arrange their own travel and accommodation to the Wellington location.

- Specialised mental health nursing in a correctional health setting, managing complex presentations and risk assessments
- CNS Grade 2-level clinical leadership, including advanced assessment, care coordination, and multidisciplinary collaboration
- Fixed-term contract until 30 June 2027, with the flexibility of a defined end date

Preferred Requirements

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with demonstrated mental health nursing experience or relevant qualifications




- Proven capability at CNS Grade 2 level, including advanced clinical assessment and therapeutic intervention skills
- Experience managing complex mental health presentations, conducting risk assessments, and coordinating care across multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to work effectively in a correctional health environment and meet security clearance requirements
- Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a secure setting

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent, with current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Post-graduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing or substantial demonstrated experience in mental health nursing practice
- Familiarity with correctional health environments or experience working in secure or regulated clinical settings
