We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our West region operational teams across Western Australia, South Australia and Northern Territory, strengthen project delivery and equipment readiness, and translate business objectives into measurable results. This role suits a practical, commercially capable leader who can support Supervisors across multiple locations while maintaining a strong focus on safety and customer service.

About the Role

Reporting to the District Manager, you will lead service delivery across the West region through the operational Supervisors. You will oversee workforce and project planning, delivery performance, financial outcomes and the maintenance of specialist equipment. You will collaborate with Sales, Engineering, QHSE, Finance and other support functions to ensure that customer commitments are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and coach Supervisors across multiple locations, establishing clear priorities, performance expectations, training needs and accountability.

- Champion Safety First / Quality Always, with strong QHSE compliance, risk management and follow-through on corrective actions.

- Oversee resource planning, scheduling, project mobilisation and delivery, ensuring capable people, equipment and documentation are ready for work.

- Manage operating budgets, labour utilisation, project costs, forecasts and margins, taking action when performance differs from plan.

- Ensure equipment maintenance, inspection, calibration and availability meet operational and customer requirements.

- Drive accurate and timely job close-out, including job costing, variation records and invoice-ready documentation, in partnership with Finance and Accounts Receivable.





- Maintain customer relationships and work with Sales and technical teams on quotations, new service opportunities and growth plans.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for a confident operational leader with experience in complex industrial or technical field service environments. You will be comfortable directing multi-site teams, resolving competing priorities, making informed financial decisions and communicating effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

- At least 5 years of relevant operations management experience and 3 years of team leadership or management experience.

- Proven ability to manage budgets, job costing, forecasting, profit margins and operational performance.

- Sound understanding of project execution, resource scheduling, maintenance and safety requirements in a heavy industrial or specialist service setting.

- Strong planning, coaching, communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving capability.

- Competence in Microsoft 365 and operational reporting systems, with willingness to travel between West region bases and customer sites.

Desirable Experience

An engineering qualification or equivalent technical background is desirable. Exposure to specialist services such as Hot Tapping, Line Stopping, Valve Services, In office Machining, Controlled Bolting or industrial maintenance will be advantageous. Experience leading geographically dispersed teams will also be highly regarded.
