About the Opportunity
We are seeking experienced and motivated Mental Health Nurses for Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) opportunities within a correctional health setting in the Mid North Coast region of NSW.
Offering an attractive hourly rate of $70+ per hour plus penalties and benefits, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mental health clinician to utilise their advanced clinical skills within a specialised healthcare environment.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide advanced mental health assessment, care coordination and clinical leadership, supporting positive patient outcomes while managing complex mental health presentations.

The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing advanced mental health assessment, triage and clinical management of complex presentations
- Undertaking comprehensive mental health and risk assessments
- Developing and reviewing individualised mental health care plans
- Coordinating patient care, case management, referrals and follow-up
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and relevant stakeholders
- Providing clinical leadership and support to nursing colleagues
- Maintaining accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation
- Contributing to clinical quality improvement initiatives
- Working in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and correctional health security requirements
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Relevant mental health nursing qualifications and/or substantial mental health nursing experience
- Demonstrated capability at a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 level
- Experience managing complex mental health presentations
- Strong clinical assessment, risk management and care coordination skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- A commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred mental health care
- The ability to meet relevant correctional health security clearance requirements
Previous experience in correctional health, forensic mental health or a secure clinical environment will be highly regarded.
