2-Year Secondment | Supply Chain Projects | Melbourne Your Impact As Operations Readiness Lead – Packaging Optimisation, you’ll play a key role in preparing our packaging operations for operational and capital change as part of our Manufacturing Optimisation Program in a 2-year secondment. Working at the intersection of manufacturing, engineering and project delivery, you’ll represent packaging operations from early design through equipment installation, commissioning, start-up and handover. Your focus will be making sure recent equipment, automation, product moves and line changes can be introduced safely, practically and successfully into day-to-day operations. This is an opportunity to shape how change lands on the factory floor, bringing together the people, processes, equipment and operational plans needed to turn project delivery into sustainable manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities
• Represent packaging operations across design, equipment selection, automation, line layouts and technical reviews.
• Build and coordinate operational readiness plans, aligning production requirements with installation, trials, commissioning and start-up.
• Define practical operational requirements and acceptance criteria for packaging and automation changes.
• Bring together operators, maintainers and subject matter experts to support testing, trials and successful implementation.
• Coordinate operational participation in commissioning, ramp-up and performance validation.
• Ensure teams are ready for change through appropriate procedures, training, competency sign-off and communications.
• Develop contingency plans to protect operations through line outages, product moves, commissioning delays or performance challenges.
• Support go/no-go decisions and ensure operational risks and outstanding issues are understood before transition.
• Lead operational handover and stabilisation, ensuring ownership,



maintenance requirements and support arrangements are established.
• Capture lessons learned and opportunities for continuous improvement as changes transition into BAU. About You You’re an experienced packaging, manufacturing or production professional who understands what it takes to introduce significant operational change while keeping safety, people and performance front of mind. You enjoy connecting the practical realities of manufacturing with engineering and project delivery, and you’re comfortable working across multiple teams to turn complex plans into workable solutions. You’ll ideally bring:
• Strong experience within packaging, manufacturing or production operations, ideally within FMCG, beverages or another high-volume environment.
• Exposure to packaging equipment, automation, line installations, commissioning, start-ups or significant operational change.
• A practical understanding of production environments, including safety, quality, maintenance and production planning.
• Experience coordinating operational readiness, commissioning, implementation or change activities.
• The ability to connect equipment, product, materials and operational requirements to build practical solutions.
• Strong stakeholder and facilitation skills, with the ability to work across manufacturing, engineering, project teams and external partners.
• An engineering, manufacturing, operations or technical qualification would be advantageous, but is not essential.
