Avant Law is seeking an experienced and proactive Conflicts Coordinator to join our Medical Indemnity Division in Brisbane. The role can also be based out of Sydney or Melbourne for the right candidate. This is a permanent full-time position with hybrid working arrangements. In this role, you will support the identification, assessment and management of conflicts of interest, helping ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures and professional obligations. Working closely with Partners, Heads of Practice and legal teams, you will play an important role in promoting risk awareness and supporting effective legal operations.

About the Role
Your

key responsibilities
will include:
• Conducting and documenting conflicts of interest searches, ensuring information is accurate and complete.
• Identifying and analysing potential conflicts, liaising with stakeholders and escalating issues where appropriate.
• Maintaining the conflicts register and preparing reports as required.
• Reviewing and updating policies and procedures to support compliance.
• Supporting the timely allocation of legal matters.
• Delivering training and education on conflicts of interest and relevant processes.
• Building strong relationships with stakeholders across a national team.
• Assisting with projects, process improvements and administrative requirements as needed. About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:
• Previous experience in conflicts of interest management.
• A sound understanding of conflicts of interest and associated risks.




• Strong judgement and the ability to identify and escalate potential issues.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines.
• A proactive and collaborative approach to relationship building.
