Transaction Monitoring Analyst | The Star Brisbane As a Transaction Monitoring Analyst, you will undertake complex analysis and assessment of transaction monitoring alerts to identify potential money laundering and terrorism financing risks. You’ll review customer activity across gaming, accounts, deposits, transfers and other relevant information, while completing KYC verification and Customer Risk Assessments. You’ll support the review and submission of regulatory reports to AUSTRAC, including Suspicious Matter Reports, Threshold Transaction Reports and International Funds Transfer Instructions. Using your analytical skills and sound judgement, you’ll identify unusual activity and escalate higher-risk customers, PEPs and other ML/TF concerns as required. You’ll also work closely with internal stakeholders, investigations teams and external agencies to support enquiries and financial crime risk management. • 2+ years’ experience in an AML Analyst role, ideally complemented by experience in cage, count or patron account operations within a casino or gaming setting.
• Strong investigative, analytical, research and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to work independently and make sound, evidence-based decisions.
• A comprehensive understanding of AML/CTF statutory compliance,



regulatory reporting requirements and domestic/international banking practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document findings and communicate complex information.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in areas such as Law, Criminology, Economics or Accounting, and/or recognised industry accreditations and professional memberships are desirable.
• Strong Microsoft Office and systems capability, including experience using analytical software and database/record management systems.
