About us
The Hospital Research Foundation Group exists to deliver hope through life-changing medical research, improved care in hospitals and specialised support services in the community. We work across a broad range of diseases and illnesses to help create better health and wellbeing outcomes.
In Western Australia, we build on a proud history of supporting innovation and excellence in medical research and patient care. We collaborate with researchers, clinicians, businesses, individuals and communities to address areas of unmet need and deliver meaningful impact across metropolitan, regional and remote WA.
We are looking ahead to an exciting next chapter in Western Australia, with opportunities to grow our community fundraising programs, build new corporate partnerships and connect more people with our purpose. Join us at this stage of our WA journey and help turn that ambition into meaningful local impact.
About the role
As our Community Fundraising Coordinator, a position created to support our growth across WA, you will help shape what comes next for fundraising and partnerships. Reporting to the Growth Impact Lead – WA, you will support the development and growth of community fundraising, peer-to-peer initiatives, corporate partnerships and sponsorships. From opening a conversation with a new business partner to helping a community fundraiser bring an idea to life, you will build relationships that grow awareness, engagement and vital income.
This is an opportunity to do more than coordinate established activities: you will contribute ideas, uncover new opportunities and help grow programs as our WA presence develops. Working with colleagues across fundraising, partnerships and marketing, as well as external suppliers, partners and supporters,
you will turn plans into engaging campaigns and events aligned with our Strategic Plan. You will build on your relationship management and business development experience while staying hands-on with delivery, budgets and accurate reporting. Some out-of-hours work and travel are required.
Key responsibilities:
- Work with the Growth Impact Lead – WA to turn our growth ambitions into partnership, sponsorship and community fundraising plans aligned with organisational strategy.
- Open doors to new corporate partners, sponsors and community groups, identifying opportunities to grow fundraising across Western Australia.
- Build on existing supporter relationships and develop mutually beneficial partnerships, engagement opportunities and campaigns.
- Lead the growth and delivery of peer-to-peer and community fundraising programs in WA, including established campaigns such as The Longest Table and Pedal to Fight Parkinson’s.
- Bring memorable fundraising experiences to life through clear event briefs, schedules, budgets and delivery plans, coordinating suppliers and stakeholders to achieve high-quality outcomes.
- Monitor fundraising targets and key performance indicators, providing timely reports and maintaining accurate supporter information in the CRM.
- Promote positive and team-oriented relationships with colleagues, volunteers, partners, supporters and the wider community.
About you
You enjoy spotting potential, making connections and turning a promising idea into action. The opportunity to help grow our presence in WA appeals to you because you want to contribute,
build lasting relationships and see the difference your work makes. Proactive, organised and outcomes-driven, you balance creative thinking with practical delivery and are equally comfortable working independently or bringing people together across teams.
You will bring:
- Three-five years’ experience in a similar fundraising, partnerships, sponsorship or business development role.
- Demonstrated success in developing partnerships, sponsorships and strong professional networks.
- Knowledge of community and peer-to-peer fundraising, together with practical experience.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, presentation and public speaking skills.
- Strong planning, time management and organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and financial targets.
- Confidence using CRM and project management systems and Microsoft Office applications to maintain records and produce reports.
- A collaborative, adaptable and compassionate approach, with a genuine interest in the health and not-for-profit sector.
