We are looking for reliable, caring support workers to join a regular roster supporting a gentleman who lives independently in his own home in the Ryde area.

This is an ongoing role with consistent morning hours. We are building a small, stable team across the week, so we welcome applications for weekdays, weekends or both.

The shifts

- 2 hours each morning, Monday to Sunday
- Start time between 7:30am and 8:00am
- Fridays include an extra 3 hours of community participation after the morning shift

What you’ll be doing

- Supporting a morning routine, including checking blood sugar levels and administering daily insulin
- Preparing a healthy breakfast and supporting healthy meal choices
- Prompting with personal care, organisation and daily tasks
- Light household tasks and keeping the home tidy and safe
- On Fridays, supporting him in the community with grocery shopping, appointments and social outings
- Writing clear shift notes and reporting any changes in health or wellbeing

Training in insulin administration will be provided. You do not need prior experience with insulin,



but you must be comfortable completing this training and carrying out the task confidently and reliably every shift.

About you

- Reliable and punctual. Timing matters in this role, as insulin needs to be given at the same time each day
- Patient, calm and a transparent communicator, comfortable giving information simply and one step at a time
- Observant, and confident to speak up if something doesn’t seem right
- Respectful of the person’s independence and choices

Requirements

- NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support or Disability, or relevant experience
- Right to work in Australia
