Mechanical Fitter | Industrial Manufacturing | 6-Month Contract

Fuse Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join an established manufacturing business in Brisbane. This is a hands-on maintenance role offering consistent day shifts, potential overtime and the opportunity to work across a variety of industrial processing equipment.
Who you will be working with
Our client is an established manufacturer specialising in liquid blending and production. Operating within an industrial manufacturing environment, the business relies on its maintenance team to ensure production equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance across manufacturing and processing equipment.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical breakdowns to minimise production downtime
- Maintain and repair pumps, pipework, dust collectors and filling lines.
- Troubleshoot faults across chemical blending and processing machinery.
- Conduct equipment inspections and identify potential maintenance issues.
- Follow site safety procedures, including chemical handling and PPE requirements.
We are looking for someone with
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter.
- Experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing environments.
- Strong fault-finding skills across pumps, mechanical systems and processing equipment.
- Experience within chemical manufacturing is advantageous but not essential.
- Willingness to work around chemicals and wear full protective suits and respirators when required.
- Ability to meet respirator fit-testing requirements, including being clean-shaven where the respirator seals.
Important information: This role involves working maintenance tasks may require full protective suits and respirators, particularly when working on pumps, pipework and processing equipment. These conditions can be physically demanding, particularly during warmer weather however is not all the time.
This is initially a 6-month contract. While an extension or permanent opportunity may become available, neither is guaranteed.
