The purpose of the role is to help our client become an AI-native organisation, where people use AI in their day to day work and the best AI built ideas are turned into tools the business can rely on.
Working as part of the Data & Digital team, the role closes the gap between a department building something practical with AI and that solution being properly specified, tested, documented and ready for secure, wider use.
The role requires sound judgement about what AI can and cannot do well, and about whether an idea is best left as a personal tool, built as an automation, or developed into a separate system or software.
Responsibilities:
- Work with departments to understand what they have built or want to build with AI, and the business problem it solves.
- Identify opportunities where AI, automation or system improvements could deliver meaningful efficiency or value, and bring them to Data & Digital with a clear case
- Recommend whether each opportunity should remain a personal or team tool, become an automation (for example Power Automate), or be developed as a separate system or software.
- Clearly explain the limitations and risks of AI for each use case, so decisions are made with a realistic view of what it can reliably do.
- Own the recommendation and work with the Finance Systems Analyst to endorse it; proposals requiring external consultants or significant investment are put to the Senior Leadership Team for approval.
- Help colleagues use AI tools such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot effectively and responsibly, including how to build simple solutions themselves within agreed guidelines.
- Support the AI Working Group and its department champions, including fortnightly sessions on use cases and skills.
Experience:
- Demonstrated hands-on use of AI tools to build or automate something real, such as a working tool, workflow, agent or integration, rather than only using AI for writing or research.
- Strong working knowledge of Claude (including skills and Claude Code).
- Sound understanding of the limitations of AI, including accuracy, reliability and data privacy, and the ability to explain them to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience facilitating workshops or training sessions with non-technical stakeholders.
- Awareness of cyber security, data security and governance considerations sufficient to document what a solution touches for specialist review.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate (desirable)
