The Chance

We’re looking for a commercially astute Pre-Contracts Advisor to join our Brisbane-based team, supporting commercial outcomes across Global Group’s four businesses.

Reporting to the Group Contracts Manager, you’ll play a key role in reviewing tender contracts, identifying commercial risks and negotiating practical contractual solutions.

This is a great opportunity to influence projects from the outset, work alongside experienced commercial and operational leaders, and gain exposure to a diverse project portfolio.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Reviewing tender contracts against Group Contract Governance Standards, identifying commercial risks and contractual obligations.
- Developing practical risk mitigation strategies and recommending commercially sound contractual positions.
- Preparing, reviewing and negotiating contractual departures, amendments and client responses.
- Partnering with pre-contracts, estimating and operational teams to balance commercial risk with project delivery requirements.
- Supporting contract negotiations and escalating material or unresolved risks where required.
- Preparing contract handover summaries to ensure project teams understand key obligations, risks and contractual requirements.




- Contributing to the ongoing improvement of contract governance processes and consistency across the Group.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings strong commercial judgement, a collaborative approach and the confidence to navigate complex contractual matters.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

- 3+ years’ experience in contracts, pre-contracts or a commercially focused role, ideally within engineering, construction, oil and gas, mining or energy.
- A sound understanding of construction contracts, commercial risk and contractual obligations.
- Strong contract review, drafting and negotiation capabilities.
- The ability to identify contractual risks and translate them into practical commercial solutions.
- Confidence engaging with stakeholders across commercial, operational and leadership teams.
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.

Tertiary qualifications in Law, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Commerce or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
