About the Opportunity

Are you an experienced Disability Support Worker with solid mental health experience and a commitment to providing safe, person-centred care?

Danny Met Sally is seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team in Sawtell. You will support adults with complex mental health conditions and physical support needs, helping them maintain their wellbeing, independence and daily routines.

Working alongside an experienced team, you will provide individualised support in accordance with each participant’s care plans and Behaviour Support Plan. Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing personal care and assistance with daily living.

- Supporting medication administration, including insulin, following training and competency assessment.

- Monitoring blood glucose levels and following prescribed diabetes management plans.

- Providing catheter care and following complex bowel management plans.





- Assisting with mobility and transfers using hoists, slide sheets, wheelchairs and commodes.

- Responding calmly to behaviours of concern and supporting people experiencing mental health distress.

- Following mental health care plans, Behaviour Support Plans and authorised restrictive practice requirements.

- Assisting with cooking, cleaning and household tasks.

Mental health experience, flexible availability and willingness to work sleepover shifts are essential.

About You

In addition to our values, our support staff require mandatory compliance:

- 12+ months minimum experience as a Support Worker in SIL settings

- Experience managing behaviours of concern and responding to high-risk situations, including suicidal ideation and wandering or absconding.

- The ability to follow detailed clinical instructions and support plans consistently.

- Strong communication skills, sound judgement and a calm approach under pressure.

- A willingness to administer insulin and undertake the required clinical training and competency assessments.



Previous insulin administration experience is desirable.

- Flexible availability across weekdays, weekends and overnight shifts, including sleepovers.

- Relevant tertiary qualification (minimum Certificate III in Disability or related industry)

- Driver’s Licence & Car with Comprehensive Insurance

- NDIS Worker Screening Check

- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate

- Manual Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

- Medication Administration Certification (or willingness to obtain)
