This is a 12-month opportunity that can be based out of our Head Office in Melbourne, Collingwood or our State Office in Sydney CBD.

Working closely with senior executives, project leaders and regulators, you'll be at the centre of a landmark project, providing expert legal advice, governance oversight and company secretarial support to help deliver a successful merger and create long-term value for customers and members.

Why join us

- We have big plans to become Australia’s most trusted bank and a leading purpose-driven business.
- As a certified B Corp, we’re part of a global business community who meet the highest social and environmental standards, putting purpose over profit.
- Every role and person in our bank is essential to bringing our values, purpose and aspiration to life.
- We offer versatile working options, competitive salary and 14% super.
- Our staff have access to a range of meaningful benefits to support their physical and mental wellbeing including 24/7 free counselling, free flu vaccinations and discounted gym memberships.

- We support our staff to grow their careers through learning and development and an organisational culture where we reward and recognise innovation and values, not long hours.

- We are committed to building an inclusive culture and a diverse workforce that reflects the Australian community.
- We care for a conservation reserve – where we work with key partner organisations to protect threatened species and involve staff in conservation.

What You'll Be Doing

- Provide legal, governance and company secretarial support, helping deliver the proposed merger between Bank Australia and PNL Ltd.
- Partner with senior leaders to identify and manage legal, regulatory and governance risks across integration and transformation activities.
- Review, draft and advise on supplier agreements, member contracts, disclosure documents, customer communications and other merger-related documentation.
- Support Day 1 readiness activities, governance framework enhancements, FAR requirements and regulatory engagement with bodies such as ASIC and ACCC.
- Coordinate legal and company secretarial input across multiple project workstreams, ensuring priorities are delivered on time and to a high standard.
- Contribute to project governance, reporting and strategic initiatives, while providing support across business-as-usual legal and company secretary matters as required.

What You'll Bring

- A Law Degree, current Australian Practising Certificate and at least 5 years' post-qualification legal experience (8+ years highly regarded).
- Experience in financial services,

banking or another highly regulated environment, with strong knowledge of regulatory and governance frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience supporting complex business transformation, merger, acquisition or integration programs.
- Strong commercial judgement with the ability to translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical business solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills, with the confidence to work closely with executives, project leaders and regulators.
- A proactive, organised and collaborative approach, coupled with strong project coordination skills and attention to detail.
