Salary $80,000 plus superannuation

About the Position

LFS Advisers is seeking a motivated and client-focused Finance Broker to join our expanding Mortgage and Finance team in Melbourne CBD full time.

The successful candidate will provide professional guidance and support to clients throughout the lending process, from the initial financial assessment and development of an appropriate loan strategy through to application, approval and settlement.

This position involves working with a diverse client base, including PAYG employees, self-employed applicants, property investors and clients with complex company, trust and other entity structures.

Key Responsibilities

· Assess clients’ financial circumstances, borrowing capacity and loan serviceability.

· Identify clients’ financial objectives and recommend appropriate lending products and loan structures.

· Review and interpret complex financial documentation, including financial statements, tax returns and supporting documents for self-employed applicants and entity borrowers.

· Research and analyse lender products, credit policies, pricing and eligibility requirements.

· Develop tailored residential and commercial lending strategies that align with clients’ objectives.

· Liaise and negotiate with lenders, business development managers and credit assessors to achieve suitable client outcomes.

· Conduct comprehensive client interviews and complete financial position and living-expense assessments.

· Coordinate the collection, verification and review of all required supporting documentation.

· Prepare, compile and lodge accurate and complete finance applications.

· Manage applications throughout assessment, approval, loan documentation and settlement.





· Provide clients with clear and timely updates throughout the lending process.

· Ensure all application files comply with applicable legislation, responsible-lending obligations, industry standards and internal procedures.

· Maintain accurate client records and develop professional relationships with clients, lenders and referral partners.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, sound judgement and a strong commitment to achieving positive client outcomes.

The following qualifications, experience and attributes are required or highly regarded:

· At a minimum a Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking and/or a Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management,

· Current MFAA or FBAA membership, or eligibility to obtain membership.

· Previous experience in mortgage broking, banking, lending or financial services is advantageous.

· Knowledge of loan serviceability, lender credit policies and lending assessment requirements.

· Experience assessing self-employed applicants and complex financial structures will be highly regarded.

· Robust analytical, organisational and problem-solving capabilities.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· High attention to detail and a commitment to regulatory compliance.

· Ability to manage multiple applications, competing priorities and deadlines.

· Proficiency in aggregator platforms, customer relationship management systems and Microsoft Office.

· Proficiency in Vietnamese or another language will be highly regarded.
