Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast is seeking a Ward Clerk to work within our team. This position will be employed on a permanent part basis 15.2 hours per week. Mater has finalised the strategic acquisition of Healthscope's Gold Coast Private Hospital, this is a significant milestone in Mater's commitment to delivering exceptional and compassionate care to Queensland communities.

Based at our Gold Coast Campus, this role will be part of our state‐of‐the‐art 339 bed facility located in Southport. This facility was established in 2016 and offers a wide range of specialities across Emergency, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastics, ENT, General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology.

Salary range: $32.02 - $37.35 per hourplus superannuationandaccess to not‐for‐profit salary packaging up to $18,550 +access to many staff benefits

What you'll be doing

As the Ward Clerk, you will work within an interdisciplinary team and be responsible for efficiently, accurately, and timely providing a range of administrative services.

Tasks may include but are not limited to:

- Patient admission, discharges, and transfers
- Medical record preparation, tracking, filing and maintenance
- Driving customer service through direct customer support and stakeholder communication

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

- Proven experience working in an administrative role within a medical or hospital environment
- Sound computer literacy and numeracy skills, well-developed keyboard skills, and familiarity with patient administration systems
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately under pressure
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and ability to work under the direction of others in a multidisciplinary team environment
