About the role

The Old Fitzroy Hotel is looking for an experienced and hands-on Pub Supervisor to join our team on a part-time basis.

We're looking for someone who knows how to run a great pub service, lead a team on the floor and create a welcoming experience for our guests.

This is a hands-on leadership role, working closely with the Venue Manager and wider team to keep service running smoothly, support the team and maintain the standards that make The Old Fitz what it is.

What you'll be doing

Service & floor leadership

- Lead and coordinate daily service across the pub, ensuring the floor and bar run smoothly.

- Maintain a visible presence on the floor, supporting the team and stepping in where needed.

- Ensure guests receive friendly, attentive and consistent service.

- Manage service flow, bookings and guest requests, resolving issues as they arise.

- Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness and venue readiness.

Team supervision & development

- Support, guide and motivate the front-of-house team during service.

- Allocate sections and responsibilities, ensuring the team is organised and service-ready.

- Lead by example, setting clear expectations around service, presentation and conduct.

- Assist with training and onboarding new team members.

- Provide feedback and communicate team performance or operational concerns to the Venue Manager.

Bar & operational standards

- Ensure bar and floor teams follow responsible service of alcohol requirements and venue procedures.

- Maintain strong product knowledge across beer, wine, spirits and the venue's offering.

- Monitor stock levels and communicate ordering or maintenance requirements.

- Ensure opening, closing and cash-handling procedures are followed correctly.

- Support compliance with food safety,



workplace health and safety and other operational requirements.

Communication & administration

- Communicate service updates, team matters and operational issues to the Venue Manager.

- Assist with shift handovers and relevant daily reporting.

- Support roster execution, breaks and shift coverage during service.

- Identify operational improvements and contribute practical ideas.

- Work collaboratively with the kitchen and management teams to maintain a consistent guest experience.

About you

- Previous experience in a Pub Supervisor, Bar Supervisor, Duty Manager or senior hospitality role.

- Confident leading a team in a busy pub or hospitality environment.

- Strong understanding of food and beverage service, including beer, wine and spirits.

- Good knowledge of RSA, food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.

- Calm, organised and confident making decisions during service.

- Approachable and able to build positive relationships with team members and guests.

- Strong communication skills and a practical, hands-on approach.

- Reliable, flexible and comfortable working evenings and weekends.

- Holds a current NSW RSA certificate.
